Job summary

Pure Storage is seeking an experienced software test engineer to join the FlashArray team. You will drive high-quality releases, plan and execute tests, and collaborate with support to root-cause customer issues while building automation tools for efficient testing.

The ideal candidate has a BS in CS with 10+ years in storage testing, deep storage knowledge, and strong Python automation experience, plus familiarity with VMware, OpenStack, and IO tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 10+ years of software system testing experience.
• Deep knowledge of the storage stack, high availability, caching, RAID, and replication.
• Experience with storage protocols and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack).
• Hands-on interoperability testing and upgrade paths in hardware labs or data centers.
• Strong Python test automation skills, IO tools, and database tech knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure releases of the highest quality.
• Plan, test and qualify shipping releases.
• Collaborate with Support to reproduce and root-cause customer issues; document defects.
• Triage and debug automated test failures across a multi-machine stack; perform testing.
• Design and build tools to simplify testing and integration workflows; close test gaps with release engineering.
