Job summary

Hammerspace is seeking a seasoned Senior Software QA Engineer to test storage, filesystems, and distributed systems (NFS/SMB) across Windows, Linux, and VMware environments. You will lead test strategy, contribute to design reviews, and drive automation to ensure product quality.

The role requires building QA pipelines, writing system test plans, and collaborating with development and support teams. Remote work with a global team is supported. Salary ranges and full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with NFS/SMB protocols on Windows and Linux.
• Experience on Linux/Windows/VMware.
• Strong release management and testing lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience building QA test pipelines and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with NAS file system testing.
• Scripting in shell and Python.
• Experience with packet capture tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Ability to write and execute complex system test plans and reports.
• Proven track record as a key contributor to projects.
• Excellent communication skills and a quality mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing of Storage features via test strategies and automation.
• Review designs and provide feedback to improve quality.
• Devise test strategies for cross-functional and stress testing.
• Develop test cases for new features and regression testing.
• Collaborate with tools team to build automation.
• Interface with Customer Support to reproduce and debug issues.
• Work remotely with a global team via Slack, Zoom, Email, Confluence and Jira.
