Guided by a commitment to excellence and innovation, we help clients optimize performance, ensure compliance, and uphold the highest standards of safety.

Job Description

Position Opening: Senior QA/QC Manager or Director

Location: Midland, Texas

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salary Exempt

Reports To: Director of Operations (or Executive Management)

Compensation Range: $140,000–$165,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Overview:

We are actively recruiting a proven Senior QA/QC Manager or Director-level leader to take full ownership of our quality assurance and quality control systems across fabrication and pressure vessel operations. This role is ideal for a highly experienced quality professional with deep technical knowledge in ASME Section VIII and IX, API, and ISO 9001, and who has a strong track record of driving audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional quality initiatives in industrial manufacturing—especially within oil & gas, energy, or heavy fabrication sectors.

This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking a quality professional who can operate strategically at the leadership level while also engaging tactically with production teams and inspection staff to uphold the highest standards of product integrity, customer satisfaction, and code compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ASME, API, ISO 9001, and AWS D1.1 standards.

Lead all third-party, internal, customer, and regulatory audits and serve as the company’s primary quality representative to certifying bodies and inspectors.

Oversee all QA/QC functions including incoming material inspection, in-process and final inspections, weld quality verification, NDT coordination, and final documentation (MDRs).

Drive root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and quality metrics tracking using structured methodologies.

Develop, update, and control technical quality documentation: WPS, PQRs, ITPs, NCRs, inspection checklists, audit plans, and procedure manuals.

Partner with production, engineering, and project teams to integrate quality into every stage of fabrication and assembly, not just final inspection.

Establish and track KPIs for quality performance, audit outcomes, and customer feedback to identify systemic issues and drive improvement.

Mentor and manage a growing QA/QC team, ensuring competency in welding codes, fabrication standards, inspection tools, and procedural compliance.

Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and regulatory awareness across the organization.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience in QA/QC roles within industrial fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, or energy-related sectors.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing quality programs and inspection teams.

Expert-level understanding of ASME Section V, VIII, and IX; API specifications; AWS D1.1; ISO 9001 QMS; and associated codes, standards, and practices.

Strong working knowledge of welding processes, NDT methods (MT, PT, UT, RT), and fabrication workflows.

Proven ability to interface with certifying authorities (e.g., ASME, NBIC, API, ISO registrars).

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or industrial technology preferred.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred.

Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.

What We Offer

Competitive salary aligned with experience and responsibility.

Semi-annual bonuses based on performance and company profitability.

Long-term career opportunity with room for advancement and influence.

A technically rigorous and collaborative environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for candidates who:

Want to lead quality from the top down—not just check boxes.

Thrive in dynamic environments where fabrication, code compliance, and product reliability intersect.

Are confident managing a QA/QC team while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and production leaders.

Understand the real-world consequences of quality failures—and are passionate about preventing them.
