Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a QA/QC Engineer in Texas to lead quality assurance across materials, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning. You will develop quality documentation, perform inspections, coordinate with clients and inspectors, and ensure project execution meets all codes and ISO 9001 standards.

You will review and implement ITPs, WPS, QCPs, NCRs, and test records, while mentoring inspectors and coordinating subcontractors to uphold the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI welding inspector certification with welding inspection experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC in semiconductor, wastewater treatment, construction or EPC projects.
  • Experience in piping, structural steel, pressure vessels, fabrication and installation quality control.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation management.
  • Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AWS, API and ISO standards.
  • Experience in inspection/testing activities, material verification, welding inspection, and project quality documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project kick-off, pre-fabrication, pre-inspection, and client meetings to review quality requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and implement project quality documentation (ITPs, QCPs, Method Statements, WPS, PQR, WQT/WPQ, Test Procedures, MRB).
  • Develop and maintain project quality plans per client specs and international standards.
  • Coordinate inspections for incoming materials, fabrication, installation, welding, coating, testing and final acceptance.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ activities and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Review material certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, test packs and quality records.
  • Prepare manage NCRs, corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analyses.
  • Plan, assign and supervise QA/QC inspectors; mentor new inspectors.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits by clients or cert bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Participate in piping pre-line walk, hydro/ pneumatic/ pressure testing, leak testing, punch closing and commissioning.
  • Ensure inspection/testing records are documented and submitted to clients.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Summary

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, standards, and quality management systems. The role involves developing quality documentation, conducting inspections, coordinating with clients and third-party inspectors, and ensuring successful project execution with the highest quality standards.

What You Will Do
  • Attend project kick-off meetings, pre-fabrication meetings, pre-inspection meetings, and client meetings to review quality requirements and provide technical support.
  • Prepare, review, and implement project quality documentation, like Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Procedures, Method Statements, Welding Procedures Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Qualification Test Records (WQT/WPQ), Test Procedures, Audit Documents, Manufacturing Record Books (MRB) Documents.
  • Develop and maintain project quality plans in accordance with client specifications and applicable international standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct inspections for incoming materials, fabrication, installation, welding, coating, testing, and final acceptance activities. (FRP Tanks, Pumps, Filter, Mixer/Agitator, PV, skids, Thermo-Plastic pipes, SS Pipes, Valves)
  • Monitor subcontractors’ activities and attend the inspection to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Review material certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, test pack document and quality records for compliance.
  • Prepare and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analyses.
  • Plan, assign, and supervise QA/QC inspectors' workloads and provide training and mentoring to new inspectors.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits conducted by clients or certification bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Participate in Piping pre-line walk, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, pressure testing, leak testing, punch closing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing records are properly documented, maintained, and submitted to clients.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Certified Welding Inspector qualification, such as CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), with proven experience in welding inspection activities.
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in semiconductor, wastewater treatment, construction, or EPC project environments.
  • Experience in piping, structural steel, pressure vessels, fabrication, and installation quality control.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Pay Range

$83K-$93K

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure.

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Construction environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
