Job summary

Jobgether is recruiting a Lead Subject Matter Expert (Quality Assurance & Quality Control) for rolling stock engineering in the United States. You will provide technical leadership across projects from new procurement to fleet management, overseeing inspections, audits, and continuous improvement.

The role requires deep QA/QC expertise in rail vehicles, compliance with industry standards, and collaboration with clients, engineers and subcontractors to deliver safe, reliable rail systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with rolling stock QA experience.
• Rail industry experience in procurement, manufacturing quality, inspections, QC and compliance verification.
• QA/QC methodologies, audits, manufacturing processes, inspection procedures and technical documentation.
• Certifications: Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Welding Inspector desirable.
• Multi-modal rail knowledge across high-speed, intercity, commuter, light rail and subway systems.
• Regulatory knowledge with FRA/FTA.
• Fleet performance and post-delivery inspections preferred.
• Technical inspection capabilities and design-review participation.
• Leadership and supervision of inspectors and subcontractors.
• Strong communication, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel for project work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support rolling stock engineering projects from concept through completion.
• Oversee QA/QC activities across locomotives, multiple units, and passenger cars.
• Conduct first article inspections and assess manufacturing quality.
• Perform on-site manufacturing inspections including welding inspections.
• Organize and lead quality audits with subcontractors.
• Participate in design reviews and QA process implementation.
• Maintain QA/QC procedures for models, simulations and deliverables.
• Prepare inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Serve as technical liaison with clients, manufacturers and stakeholders.
• Support procurement and vehicle rebuild programs.
• Monitor fleet delivery performance and quality and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to client relationships, business development and project scope.
• Work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
