Job summary

Hitachi Rail USA is seeking a Lead - Quality Control Engineer to direct quality assurance activities across rolling stock operations and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role provides technical and people leadership, driving continuous improvement and ensuring delivery of high-quality products and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, quality engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification preferred.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or passenger transportation quality environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Quality Control team across manufacturing stages and inspections.
• Develop and review quality plans, sampling, and testing procedures.
• Audit readiness and participate in internal/external quality audits.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and track corrective actions.
• Monitor performance against project objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Review supplier quality documentation and ensure conformance to standards.
• Serve as liaison with customer inspectors and provide supporting documentation.
