Job summary

Synechron is seeking a QA Engineer / SDET to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. You will design and implement robust test automation across web, API, and backend systems, collaborating with DevOps, product, and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes Playwright/Selenium, API testing, CI/CD integration, and cloud-native testing within a banking/fintech context. The position offers work in a global technology-driven environment with exposure to FinLabs

Qualifications

Minimum 7+ years of Quality Engineering and Test Automation experience.
Design and develop test automation frameworks from scratch.
Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
Experience testing modern web apps built with React.js, Angular, or similar front-end frameworks.
Strong API testing experience using Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.
Experience validating RESTful APIs, Microservices, and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Harness).
Experience using ALM Octane, Jira, Zephyr, or Xray for test management.
Strong understanding of Unit/Integration/Regression/Functional/E2E testing.
Performance testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP cloud platforms.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC processes.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, defect management, and communication skills.
Banking and Financial Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and backend apps.
Create automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or other tools.
Develop and execute API automation suites to validate service functionality.
Collaborate with development teams to embed quality in the SDLC.
Review requirements and create comprehensive test strategies and plans.
Build automation solutions integrated with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
Perform functional, integration, regression, E2E, and system testing across apps.
Validate performance, scalability, and reliability via performance/load testing.
Analyze defects, identify root causes, and drive issue resolution.
Create and maintain test cases and execution reports in ALM Octane or similar.
Implement database validation using SQL and NoSQL.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide status updates to stakeholders.
Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-release validation.
Develop reusable testing utilities and tooling to improve coverage.
Review automation scripts and enforce QA best practices.
Drive shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement.
Collaborate with DevOps to optimize testing in cloud/container environments.
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and quality standards.
