Job summary

Novanta is seeking a Quality Engineer in Apex, NC to ensure force torque sensor and tool changer products meet customer expectations. You’ll lead compliant processes, analyze data, and drive improvements across cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes problem solving, corrective actions, and Lean initiatives to enhance product quality and process reliability. Travel may be required as part of quality activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality role in manufacturing or 4 years in another manufacturing role.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is a plus.
• Experience with ISO 13485:2016 compliant quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create processes to assure compliance to customer, regulatory, and ISO requirements.
• Address customer and internal quality issues with sound problem solving and corrective actions.
• Recommend actions for improvement based on quality risk assessment.
• Collaborate with the Design Group to input preventive quality measures.
• Create quality plans for new product introductions.
• Track and analyze incoming, in-process and final inspection data for trends.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and defect reduction efforts.
• Assess and recommend quality equipment to meet current and future needs.
