Job summary

Storyblok is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to drive automation using Playwright and TypeScript within our Product Engineering team. You will raise the bar for QA, define testing responsibilities, and collaborate with engineers to build high-quality, scalable test suites.

This fully remote role offers a stipend for home office setup, equipment upgrades, and opportunities for professional growth, including stock options and team events, to ensure flawless performance across our CMS platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of QA or software testing experience.
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript and Playwright.
• Experience defining and enacting test pyramid guidelines with developers and QAs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and containerized test environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving TS and test automation standards.
• Demonstrates AI literacy to enhance productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end with clarity and accountability across teams.
• Champion TypeScript practices and coding standards in the QA codebase.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across frontend and backend with Playwright.
• Raise TS standards with stronger typing, reusable abstractions, linting, and tooling.
• Define and enforce test pyramid guidelines for unit, integration, and E2E tests.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing and track defects to improve product quality.
• Participate in project kick-offs to influence testability early.
• Identify risks and dependencies and escalate when needed.
• Mentor teammates on TypeScript proficiency and Playwright best practices.
