Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita seeks a Sr QA Engineer Cert to perform reviews, evaluations, and inspections for aircraft parts and products, issuing airworthiness approvals and licenses.

You will develop processes to reduce defects and foster continuous improvement, lead others, and interface with FAA and customers. Requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years, aviation/ODA knowledge, and ability to obtain ODA function codes; A&P preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field and 5 years of related experience.
• A aviation or related degree with 10 years of experience or A&P license with 10 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain ODA airworthiness function code(s).
• A&P Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify configuration of aircraft and parts against drawings and specs.
• Communicate with FAA and customers on certification status.
• Maintain knowledge of pre/post airworthiness activities.
• Apply FAA regulations for certification.
• Utilize business apps to support work area decisions.
• Understand flight operations and release processes.
• Manage MRB system for non-conforming material.
• Know defect reporting and QAB systems related to work area.
• Lead area with minimal disruption; make autonomous decisions.
• Represent organization in contracts and projects with senior customers.
• May qualify for additional ODA function codes.
