Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Senior SRE/SDWAN engineer to design, develop, and operate high-quality management tools across cloud and on-prem environments. You will build reliable services, implement monitoring, and drive automation to ensure feature quality and uptime.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply modern best practices, and own testing strategies, incident response, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production setting in Milpitas, California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in software development, or Master's with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• 5+ years experience in software development including specification, implementation and testing.
• 5+ years experience in Python programming.
• Experience in manual and automation testing using Python.
• Experience in testing using Selenium, REST API or similar frameworks.
• Experience in Django and/or Linux based systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high quality SRE applications and tools for Cisco SDWAN management layer
• Create and execute test strategies, reporting results and metrics to ensure feature quality
• Collaborate with team members to determine the root cause of problems and the best course of action to resolve and avoid them in the future
• Maintain cloud-hosted development, staging, and production environments and their monitoring and alerting systems
• Apply modern, best practices in designs and implementations
