Job summary

Komatsu Mining Technology Solutions is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer III for the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS). The role focuses on creating automated tests, defining acceptance criteria, and guiding test strategies across functional, performance, and security aspects.

You will work with product management, hardware engineering, and operations to design, validate, and deploy reliable autonomous mine solutions. Travel up to 10% may be required and on-site in Tucson or Phoenix is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; Master’s a plus.
• 6+ years combined experience in software/systems testing, with 4+ years building and scaling test automation.

Responsibilities

• Translate knowledge of AHS architecture into risk-based test plans and automated coverage.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to define measurable acceptance criteria and automation.
• Own end-to-end quality strategy across functional, performance, security, and failover testing.
• Design and enhance robust automation frameworks; integrate tests into CI/CD with containerized environments.
• Embed test hooks at design time and manage test data versioning for regression suites.
• Lead manual edge-case testing and exploratory testing; publish dashboards on pass/fail trends and MTTR.
• Facilitate blameless postmortems and convert findings into automated checks.
• Oversee compatibility matrices and deployment configurations; support on-site validation.
• Mentor engineers, promote coding standards for test development, and pilot new tools.
