Job summary

CoStar Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Quality Engineering to elevate AI-enabled automation, test design, and defect triage. The role is based in Richmond, VA, onsite Monday–Thursday with work-from-home Friday, and focuses on building scalable QA frameworks and SOX-compliant processes.

You will design automated tests, integrate with CI/CD, and leverage tools like Playwright and Copilot to improve quality, speed, and coverage for mission-critical real estate applications.

Qualifications

• BS in information systems, CS, or related field.
• Experience with agentic AI tools to speed test automation.
• Strong SQL and relational DB design knowledge.
• Experience with automated tests using Playwright or similar.
• CI/CD pipeline integration experience.
• Familiar with OWASP Top 10 and secure testing.
• Excellent communication with business and technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products conform to business requirements and quality standards.
• Design, document, and implement testing procedures aligned with SQA methodology.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, data, and schedules.
• Submit and track issues across the SDLC, including production.
• Develop functional automated tests and regression suites.
• Support release management with readiness validation.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test design and triage.
• Coordinate testing for SOX compliance as needed.
• Coordinate go/no-go testing decisions with stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous improvement of testing processes.
