Job summary

Availity is seeking a Quality Engineer IV to drive quality strategy and technical direction across teams. The role partners with engineering, product, and architecture to identify risk, define test strategy, and ensure scalable, high-performing testing practices.

Remote, US-based with preference for Eastern/Central time zones. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in software quality engineering, automation-first mindset, and expert-level automation with JavaScript, Python, or C#.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of software quality engineering, with automation-first approach in high-scale environments.
• 6+ years designing and evolving automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum with 2-week sprints.
• Expert-level automation development using JavaScript, Python, or C#, guiding others in writing maintainable automation code.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling to integrate automated tests.
• Cloud concepts experience (AWS, Azure) and cloud-hosted architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and execution of test strategy to ensure comprehensive coverage aligned with product/architecture goals.
• Drive quality outcomes within Scrum teams by identifying risks early and influencing design decisions.
• Lead automation strategy, framework design, and CI/CD integration.
• Mentor engineers on automation practices and test design across teams.
• Promote best practices for testing, automation, and quality engineering.
• Collaborate on cross-team quality initiatives and tooling decisions.
