Job summary

Apple, Inc. in San Diego seeks a Tools and Automation Engineer for the VideoApps QA team. You will design scalable automated tests for Final Cut Pro on iPad and related video applications, using Swift and/or Python to build robust test strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software QA or quality engineering
• 4+ years planning, designing, writing, maintaining and executing test cases manually and through automation using Swift and/or Python
• 3+ years testing customer-facing software applications with focus on functional correctness, usability, and reliability
• Proven experience shipping at least one commercial or consumer product through a full release cycle
• Deep expertise in software development lifecycle practices and QA role at each stage
• Strong bug detection, isolation, and regression skills
• Experience extracting meaningful user scenarios from feature descriptions into test plans
• Ability to manage multiple testing efforts and meet release deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable automated test frameworks in Swift and/or Python for Final Cut Pro on iPad and related apps
• Plan, author, and maintain manual and automated test cases from feature specs
• Execute test plans across functional, regression, and exploratory cycles
• Detect, isolate, and document bugs with clear reproduction steps and impact
• Evaluate AI/ML-driven testing approaches to improve coverage
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to translate requirements into test strategies
• Triage and track defects through the full SDLC
• Balance multiple testing efforts while meeting ship deadlines
• Contribute to QA tooling and processes across the VideoApps QA team
