Job summary

Apple, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test for the Creativity Apps group to contribute to testing for video/photo editing features.

The role focuses on planning, designing, and executing end-to-end tests both manually and with automation using Python and Swift. You will drive quality, report bugs with isolation/regression techniques, and coordinate multi-functional testing efforts across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA/QE experience.
• 1+ years as Software Engineer in Test.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Swift for prototyping, test apps, and internal tool testing.
• Proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps and backend/APIs.
• Understanding of SDLC and SQA processes and methodologies.
• Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills.
• Ability to derive user scenarios from feature descriptions into test plans and cases.
• Strong familiarity with iOS and macOS.
• Experience with GenAI tooling to test generation, failure analysis or coverage gaps.
• BS in CS or 5+ years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, write, maintain and execute end-to-end test cases manually and via automation.
• Drive quality assurance and process improvements to ensure rock-solid features pre-release.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate multi-functional test efforts and communicate progress and risks.
