We are seeking a QA/Automation Engineer with strong experience designing and maintaining automated test suites for containerized applications. This person will also conduct manual testing, including exploratory, system, performance, and integration testing. You will collaborate closely with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines and contribute to the quality strategy for all NGCS components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for containerized applications deployed in Kubernetes.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements and user stories.
• Perform manual exploratory, acceptance, system, performance, and integration testing to validate application functionality and performance.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated validation as part of the release process.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers to identify test coverage gaps and ensure testability.
• Analyze test results, track defects, and verify fixes in an agile, iterative development environment.
• Mentor QA team members and support their growth by teaching best practices for testing in a containerized, cloudnative environment
• Recommend quality improvements and contribute to best practices for test automation and continuous testing

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests using frameworks such as Postman, Ranorex, Selenium, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with testing containerized applications and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the ability to perform both automated and manual testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Experience with performance/load testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or similar.
• Ability to write clear and concise test documentation.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or other observability tooling.
• Background in public safety, telecommunications, or similarly regulated domains.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for test automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
