Job summary

Contentstack seeks an experienced QA Automation Engineer to own end-to-end testing for Platform and APIs. You will design and implement UI/API automation using Playwright or Cypress, and drive quality across PRs, nightly builds, and releases.

You will lead load testing, data validation, and CI/CD quality gates, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with developers to improve test coverage and reliability. This role emphasizes fast, reliable digital experiences for customers.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years QA experience, with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript E2E frameworks like Playwright or Cypress.
• Strong knowledge of JSON and REST, and API test automation.
• Experience in Load Testing with tools like JMeter, k6 or Locust.
• CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GoCD or GitHub Actions).
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and code reviews.
• Experience with Jira or similar test management tools.
• Strong SDLC and testing life cycle knowledge.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Good SQL and data validation skills; analytics testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the test strategy for Platform (Web and API): decide what runs on every PR, nightly and at release.
• Perform frontend and backend testing (Platform - Web, REST APIs, analytics and data pipelines).
• Perform regression and sanity testing across environments and cloud regions (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Design, build and maintain the UI and API automation frameworks (Playwright/Selenium).
• Add automated quality gates to CI/CD pipelines, and track flaky tests.
• Plan and run performance and load tests for APIs and data pipelines.
• Validate data correctness for analytics and metering pipelines.
• Build internal scripts and tools to automate QA processes and test data creation.
• Generate testing reports, status reports and QA metrics (pass rate, defect escape).
• Create and maintain the test case repository and review test code with developers.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and help developers write better tests.
