Job summary

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP seeks an experienced QA/Testing professional to translate business and technical requirements into comprehensive test strategies and plans for enterprise deployments. You will perform end-to-end testing including installations, upgrades, compatibility, and UAT, and drive defect resolution with cross-functional teams.

The role requires knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and defect-tracking tools, with experience in Windows environments and endpoint deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience in application QA/testing or analysis.
• At least 3 years of QA/testing or analyst experience.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, testing, release validation, and SDLC.
• Ability to develop and execute installation, upgrade, compatibility, and UAT test cases.
• Proficiency with defect-tracking and ALM tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL for validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and translate into testing strategies, plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform installation, upgrade, compatibility, functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing for enterprise apps and system integrations.
• Validate application packages (MSI, MSIX, EXE, IntuneWin32) and ensure silent install/uninstall and default settings.
• Test installations across OS images, hardware models, and VDI for compatibility.
• Validate compatibility with Windows updates, browser updates, and MS 365; participate in pilot deployments.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects through resolution using defect-management processes.
• Investigate issues to support defect resolution and release decisions.
• Conduct root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams to resolve defects.
• Validate interfaces, databases, reports, and integrations post-install/upgrade.
• Develop and maintain test docs, environments, data, defects, and release validation procedures.
• Support UAT activities including preparation, execution, and stakeholder sign-off.
• Evaluate releases, patches, and config changes for functional impact with Desktop Engineering.
• Support deployments via SCCM/MECM and Intune including pre/post validation.
• Monitor post-release behavior and document corrective actions.
• Maintain test evidence and knowledge-base content.
• Recommend improvements to functionality, deployment, testing processes, and QA methodologies.
• Ensure changes comply with change-control, security, and QA standards.
