Job summary

Thoughtworks is seeking Lead Developers (Python) who act as the primary contact for clients, guiding teams to deliver strategic technical visions with a balance of hands-on coding and client collaboration.

You will champion best practices, mentor teams, and apply DevSecOps, TDD, and CI/CD while selecting technologies that solve complex problems. The role blends client work with internal engineering excellence in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Python and modern OO programming practices.
• Experience leading software teams using Agile, Lean, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• You will champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns
• You will oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to production and evolution
• You will use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers early
• You will design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients’ problems within constraints and make pragmatic tradeoffs
• You will collaborate with teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes and ensure UX specs are embedded
• You will apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems
• You will apply a variety of languages and tools to your work and continue to code alongside Developers; you will not be post-technical in this role
• You will efficiently utilize and champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left in development
• You will cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture
