Job summary

Fintal Partners in New York is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join a team building production-grade software powering quantitative research and live trading. You will work with traders, researchers, and engineers to design scalable Python applications and data pipelines.

You will own critical components, drive architectural decisions, review code, and mentor peers while improving reliability, performance, and the overall engineering platform in a high-visibility setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Python software engineering experience.
• Experience building large-scale, production Python systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data structures, and software architecture.
• Experience working in Linux environments and modern development workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications supporting quantitative research and live trading.
• Build frameworks, APIs, and internal tools used by traders and quantitative researchers.
• Develop high-performance data pipelines and distributed systems for market data and analytics.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of production trading infrastructure.
• Partner with quantitative researchers to transition research into production-quality software.
• Drive technical design discussions, perform code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
• Evaluate new technologies and continuously improve the firm's engineering platform.
