Fintal Partners in New York is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join a team building production-grade software powering quantitative research and live trading. You will work with traders, researchers, and engineers to design scalable Python applications and data pipelines.

You will own critical components, drive architectural decisions, review code, and mentor peers while improving reliability, performance, and the overall engineering platform in a high-visibility setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional Python software engineering experience.
  • Experience building large-scale, production Python systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data structures, and software architecture.
  • Experience working in Linux environments and modern development workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.

We're partnering with a leading proprietary trading firm's looking to add a Senior Python Engineer to a team responsible for building the technology that powers quantitative research and live trading.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, quantitative research, and trading. You'll work directly with traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to build scalable production systems, improve research workflows, and develop the infrastructure that drives trading performance.

This is a highly visible engineering role where your work will have a direct impact on the firm's ability to research, deploy, and operate trading strategies.

  • Familiarity with the scientific Python ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, Polars, PyArrow, etc.)
  • Experience with C++, Rust, or another systems programming language is a plus
