Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimize data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems powering AI workflows. This fully remote hourly contract focuses on production-grade infrastructure used in training and evaluating AI models.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own performance and reliability, and contribute to tooling that scales with growing AI workloads, with flexible hours and ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python.
• Strong systems programming background.
• Disciplined about code quality with tests, linters, and formatting.
• Native or fluent English with clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Python systems for data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Identify bottlenecks and reliability issues across existing codebases and fix them.
• Improve performance, safety, and maintainability of Python infrastructure used in production AI.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows.
• Participate in design reviews and iterate on architecture decisions.
