Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (C#) to architect and optimize backend systems powering AI data pipelines and evaluation frameworks. This fully remote, hourly contract role offers 20–40 hours per week and a chance to shape production-grade data tooling.

You will build scalable C# services, integrate with cloud data platforms, and collaborate with researchers to support model training and benchmarking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering in C# on scalable systems.
• Strong systems programming focused on performance and reliability.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and RPC services.
• Experience with cloud-native data services and messaging.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance backend systems in C# for data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop services and tooling for data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Maintain RESTful APIs and RPC services for inter-service communication.
• Integrate with cloud-native data services and coordinate across message buses.
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety of production codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training.
