Job summary

V Group Inc. seeks a qualified back-end web application developer to join the Revenue Fare Management Systems team.

You will contribute to supporting legacy revenue applications and help scale the New Fare Payment System project while aligning with the LIRR and MNR roadmap. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design high-quality Python code using Django and FastAPI, and work with AWS (IAM, API Gateway), Docker, Kubernetes, and SQL/Oracle.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field (or combined with related experience)
• Strong Python development experience with Django and FastAPI
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services including API Gateway and IAM
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containers and orchestration
• Proficient SQL/Oracle PL/SQL skills and API development

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver back-end web applications
• Develop high-quality Python code and contribute to design decisions
• Build and maintain web-based applications and APIs
• Work with AWS services (IAM, API Gateway) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Create front-end interfaces for internal and external applications
• Provide documentation, code reviews, and accurate effort estimates
