Job summary

Brooksource in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Senior Python/Django Developer to help build an AI-powered platform within a large-scale enterprise. The role focuses on backend systems, cloud-native services, AI integrations, and intelligent document workflows on Google Cloud.

You will own backend architecture, implement RESTful APIs, and collaborate across Solution Architects, Product, QA, and Design teams, with a strong emphasis on production readiness and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional Python development experience.
• 2+ years of Django and Django REST Framework experience.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API development and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Vertex AI or similar LLM platforms.
• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and semantic/vector search.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs with Python and Django.
• Build integrations with enterprise project management and workflow systems.
• Develop AI-powered processing pipelines using Vertex AI and RAG.
• Implement semantic search and document retrieval across large repositories.
• Manage GCP-based infrastructure including compute, storage, messaging, and orchestration.
• Support deployment, testing, and production readiness.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product, QA, and Design teams.
• Ensure secure coding and data handling.
