Job summary

Torch.AI in Leawood, KS seeks a backend software engineer to build Python services supporting AI data workflows, design RESTful APIs, and own feature delivery from development through monitoring.

Role requires 3–6 years of Python experience, backend/API expertise, SQL/NoSQL, AWS, and containerization; collaborate with DevOps, security, and platform teams. Clearance eligible; hybrid/remote options available throughout the DMV region.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of Python development experience.
• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS and containerization.
• Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing fundamentals.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python backend services supporting operational AI and data workflows.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Own feature delivery across development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot system issues and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases and optimize queries where needed.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and test automation.
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, reliable services.
• Support junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
