Job summary

State of North Carolina's DHHS Information Technology Division seeks an Applications Systems Python Developer for a 12-month contract in Raleigh. You will design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, and migrations using Python and Power BI.

Move data from legacy to modern platforms, ensure data quality, enable analytics and automation, and collaborate with business teams to translate reporting needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python development and data pipelines.
• Experience with Power BI dashboards.
• Strong SQL skills across databases.
• Experience with data migration projects.
• Familiarity with APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of data governance and security.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows.
• Design, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analytics.
• Create interactive dashboards and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Work with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reporting.
• Integrate data from multiple sources (cloud and on-premise).
• Collaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, reconcile datasets, and implement data governance best practices.
• Document data processes, source mappings, and migration steps.
• Participate in architecture and planning sessions for data modernization projects.
