Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the Python connector and SDK ecosystem, delivering high-performance integrations and a robust developer experience.

You will drive AI/LLM integration strategy, shape patterns for RAG workflows, and collaborate with open‑source communities, product teams, and enterprise users to extend ClickHouse’s data ecosystem globally. This remote role offers policy-friendly flexibility and opportunities to influence platform direction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in data/ML roles.
• Production-grade Python connectors or integrations experience.
• Experience applying AI/ML in production data engineering contexts.
• Proficient with Python data libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Pydantic.
• Strong SQL and OLAP/analytical DB knowledge.
• Experience with concurrent Python (threading, multiprocessing, async).
• Excellent communication and collaboration with open-source communities.
• Background as Data Engineer or Data Scientist in product/platform role.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar OLAP.
• Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem.
• Experience deploying AI/ML models in production (inference APIs, vector databases).

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve ClickHouse’s Python connector and SDK ecosystem.
• Build and maintain integrations with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and transformation tools (dbt).
• Drive the AI/LLM integration strategy for RAG architectures and ML pipelines.
• Engage with the open-source community and shape the roadmap based on feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, Cloud, and other engineering teams to align integration work with platform priorities.
• Ground roadmap decisions in Data Engineer and Data Scientist workflows.
