Job summary

iBusiness.ai is seeking a Sr. Python Back-End Engineer (Systems Lead) to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for cloud-based web applications. You will architect APIs, ensure secure, production-ready systems, and lead technical decisions within the pod while collaborating with DevSecOps and other functions.

This senior role requires strong Python experience, AWS expertise, and a track record of delivering reliable, scalable backend platforms in production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with strong backend development in production environments.
• Proven experience with Python.
• Experience designing and building APIs from scratch.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services (CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, SES, SQS, SNS, RDS).
• Solid understanding of cloud-native backend architectures (serverless and containerized).
• Knowledge of database technologies (DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL) and schema design.
• Experience designing JSON schemas and service contracts.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, and deployment workflows.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting in cloud environments.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience documenting code, services, and technical decisions.
• Ability to lead technically and collaborate across engineering, product, QA, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python-based backend services and APIs.
• Architect solutions for cloud-based workflows, data processing, and ML inference.
• Lead as systems lead to guide technical decisions on service design, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Be the primary technical resource within the pod for systems-related questions and align with architectural standards.
• Collaborate with Architects, Developers, QA, DevSecOps, and Product Owners to solve complex problems.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for performance, observability, resiliency, and secure deployment.
• Partner with DevSecOps on CI/CD pipelines and deployment readiness.
• Ensure production readiness with logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational health.
