Mindlance is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join the EDGE V4 Calculation Engine team in Washington, DC, on a hybrid arrangement (4 days per week on site, moving toward full on-site). The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining modular Python services and REST APIs for energy, water, materials, and related calculation components.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Python development experience, strong SQL/PostgreSQL skills, and hands-on work with FastAPI, Pydantic, and CI/CD

Formación

• Minimum 8 years of professional Python development experience delivering secure, scalable backend applications or calculation services.
• Strong proficiency in modern Python, object-oriented design, modular architecture, and coding standards (PEP 8).
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or equivalent framework, including validation, versioning, authentication, and OpenAPI documentation.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, including data modelling, queries, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience identifying automation opportunities using AI and scripting to improve productivity and code quality.
• Experience with Pydantic, PyTest, configuration management, and reusable Python utilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and security-focused development.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, enhance, and support modular Python services and REST APIs for the EDGE V4 Calculation Engine.
• Translate building science formulas and rules into maintainable Python components.
• Develop calculation capabilities across energy, water, materials, and related domains as prioritized by backlog.
• Build reusable libraries, data models, and datasets using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Integrate services with the EDGE V4 application via API contracts and secure authentication.
• Optimize performance, caching, and scalability for global usage and high-volume scenarios.
• Create and maintain automated tests and support system integration testing and UAT.
• Maintain technical docs, API specs, and deployment notes.
