Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build backend applications, APIs, and AI-enabled software for clients. You’ll own software from design through production, working on Python development, API design, architecture, integrations, and cloud deployments.

You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver features and solutions, including LLM integration, vector databases, and retrieval capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development, primarily in Python, with backend and architecture fundamentals.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and building microservices, with secure auth.
• Experience deploying on AWS and CI/CD, with production monitoring and testing.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills; data processing workflows including JSON parsing and transformation.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production applications, with retrieval/RAG patterns and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain Python applications, backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Own production software through full lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Integrate third-party services, databases, and LLMs with secure authentication for APIs.
• Implement LLM integration patterns and retrieval capabilities, including vector DBs and RAG.
• Build data processing workflows and structured output generation.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and logging, troubleshooting production issues.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders; evaluate new technologies.
