Job summary

Blueflame AI in New York City is seeking senior backend engineers with deep Python expertise and 8+ years of professional experience to design and build production REST APIs and distributed systems for the Blueflame AI platform.

The role requires collaboration with Client Success and Product teams, with a hybrid NYC-based schedule (3 days in office per week) and a fast-paced startup environment. Strong system design and security focus are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Python programming.
• Extensive experience building production REST APIs.
• Strong system design and architecture experience.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• MongoDB and Redis proficiency.
• Willing to base in NYC metro area and work onsite three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement server-side logic for the Blueflame AI platform.
• Create, maintain, and optimize MongoDB/Redis databases.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for server and client applications.
• Implement security measures to protect data and applications.
• Contribute to system design and architectural direction.
• Review PRs and plan deliverables against timelines.
• Optimize platform performance and fix bugs.
• Collaborate with Product and Client Success teams.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
