Job summary

Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking an experienced Sr. Python Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with a financial services client. This role focuses on building and supporting APIs in Python while operating within a Java-based ecosystem, in a fast-paced agile environment.

Ideal candidates will have extensive API experience in Python, strong debugging skills, and the ability to maintain scalable systems. Knowledge of SQL, and experience with migration projects are considered a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using Python.
• Provide application and file-level support within a Java-based environment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across systems and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile framework to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support migration efforts from legacy applications to new platforms.
• Manage and prioritize a backlog of work, including post-migration cleanup and optimization tasks.
