Job summary

New York Life is hiring a Python AI Developer in New York to design, build, and operationalize AI features within a regulated, real-time enterprise environment. You will craft reusable agent services that integrate with existing enterprise ecosystems and ensure compliance and governance across teams.

You'll partner with Enterprise Developers to expose REST/gRPC interfaces, implement guardrails, and maintain data privacy.

Qualifications

• Must have professional software development experience in Python in an enterprise setting.
• Experience building applications or services using LLMs (prompting, RAG, embeddings, tool calling, agent frameworks).
• Experience with REST APIs and cloud deployment patterns in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Python-based AI services (LLM integrations, embeddings, agent workflows) with clear APIs for enterprise apps.
• Create a reusable enterprise AI/agent services layer with guardrails and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Legal and Model Risk Management to meet governance standards.
