Job summary

Havco Wood Products in Vonore, TN is seeking a Purchasing Specialist Lv4 to manage purchase orders, vendor communications, and inventory maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires an associate degree or 2 years’ experience, 1 year of purchasing exposure, forklift certification, and strong organizational skills. Overtime and weekend work may be required as printing and supply schedules demand.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Relevant Field or 2 years relevant experience required.
• Must understand internal customer requirements pertaining to quality and customer satisfaction.
• Must inspect items received for damage/defects/accuracy of order and packing slip.
• Must be able to initiate contact with Vendors, obtain and study comparative prices and quotes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring continuity of parts / raw materials supplied to support manufacturing.
• Transmit purchase orders with appropriate supporting documents to the supplier.
• Track acknowledgement of order by supplier and update purchase orders accordingly.
• Ensure invoiced costs from vendors match agreements.
• Review order requisitions for accuracy and coding, and ensure compliance to company procedures.
• Accurately prepare and confirm purchase orders, and forward copies as required.
• Maintain all transaction records using Woodpro, eMaintenance and Shared Files.
• Retain Purchasing documents per Havco records retention policy.
• Perform general stocking duties including moving and storing products; operate forklifts as needed.
• Escalate, prepare, and communicate shortage and backlog reports.
