Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Purchasing Manager in the East London, Eastern Cape region to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and optimize procurement processes. Formación

• Minimum 8–10 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Experience with ERP and procurement software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field; Master’s or certifications are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, volume consolidation, and process improvements.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and competitive pricing.
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, pricing, and potential supply chain risks.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) are advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and achieve significant cost savings.
• Experience working within the South African market is highly desirable.
