Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a Purchaser IV in Austin to perform highly complex purchasing and procurement work. You will process requisitions, develop clear specifications with customers, and ensure compliance with state laws and policies.

You will review bids, prepare tabulations, and award contracts based on best value. This role requires strong initiative, attention to detail, and collaboration with vendors and agency staff.

Qualifications

• Performs highly complex (senior level) purchasing and procurement work.
• Develops clear specifications with customers for goods and services.
• Reviews requisitions for completeness and compliance; determines procurement method.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular schedule and adheres to agency leave policy.
• Process requisitions for term, TXMAS, GPO, funding, spot and informal procurements.
• Enter requisition data accurately in CAPPS Financials; issue POs with header comments.
• Review bids, prepare bid tabulations, and make best-value award recommendations.
• Assist customers and vendors; ensure procurement files are complete and compliant.
