Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Austin, TX seeks a Purchaser IV to manage complex purchasing, bid analysis, and vendor selection under state procurement laws.

Responsibilities include processing requisitions, CAPPS Financials entries, and ensuring compliance across contracts and POs. In-office presence is required several days weekly, with telework subject to policy. Excellent benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or contract management experience.
• CTCD certification preferred; must obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule.
• Performs purchasing and procurement work per PCS policies and state laws.
• Process requisitions for term, TXMAS, GPO, funding, spot and informal solicitations.
• Enter requisition details in CAPPS Financials accurately and timely.
• Develop clear specifications with customers and research vendors.
• Distribute solicitations and review bids; prepare bid tabulations and award recommendations.
• Ensure procurement files are complete and compliant; issue POs with accurate header comments.
