Job summary

North Star Talent Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Pump Design for a leading oilfield equipment company in Houston, Texas. The role focuses on pump systems design, development, and optimization, interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.

The candidate should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of design experience (5+ preferred) and familiarity with Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years mechanical design experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Direct experience with pump design (mud pumps, PD pumps, frac pumps or similar).
• Proficiency in CAD and reading engineering drawings; ability to interpret P&IDs and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve pump systems and related components.
• Create detailed drawings, layouts, assemblies, and 3D CAD models.
• Support machine design and mechanical system development from concept to production.
• Perform tolerance studies and review drawings for accuracy.
• Evaluate performance, durability, and reliability; develop test plans and validation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
