Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Rockford, IL is seeking a Senior Pump Design Engineer with strong experience in fuel pump design, analysis and manufacturing. The engineer will lead design and analysis for multiple pump programs, focusing on robustness, manufacturability, and customer requirements.

You will work with suppliers and internal teams, analyze test data, validate design tools, and participate in root cause investigations while communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 5+ years of pump design experience.
• Experience with positive displacement pumps (balanced/F-vane, gear, axial piston).
• Prior aerospace pumping systems design, testing, and certification exposure.
• Strong communication skills for internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Complete design and analysis for one or more pump programs, on schedule and within budget.
• Provide design support across concept to manufacturing and service.
• Design and improve products for manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with suppliers for component sizing and selection.
• Participate in root cause investigations and validate against test data.
