Job summary

Helion in Everett, WA, is seeking an experienced engineer to drive the design and development of cutting-edge pulsed power semiconductor solutions for fusion generators. You will lead cross-functional efforts, prototype, test, and validate high-efficiency switching components in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

The role requires 8+ years in power electronics, a strong physics and circuit design foundation, and collaboration with fabricators to bring devices to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Masters, or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in power electronics and high voltage semiconductor design.
• Strong foundation in semiconductor physics, power electronics, and circuit design principles.
• Proven experience with rapid prototyping in a high-tech environment.
• Experience collaborating with semiconductor fabricators to manufacture devices.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and test equipment for power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate requirements for switching components for physical products.
• Design and develop high-efficiency, high-reliability pulsed power semiconductor solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and physics teams for integrated designs.
• Lead development cycles with prototyping, testing, and performance validation.
• Perform simulations, testing, and data-driven design iterations.
• Stay informed on emerging semiconductor materials and device architectures.
• Document processes, test results, and findings for knowledge sharing.
