Job summary

The City of Hallandale Beach is seeking a licensed professional engineer to lead complex civil engineering projects across environmental, water, sewer, street, and other Public Works programs.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 5+ years’ civil engineering experience, NIMS certification (or obtain within one year), Florida PE license, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 5+ years civil engineering experience or equivalent.
• NIMS certification or obtain within 1 year.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with good driving record.
• Veteran's Preference Applies; DD214 and Veterans’ Preference Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex professional, technical, and administrative and engineering work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other Public Works projects.
• Ensures compliance with current codes and criteria.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and procedures.
• Work is performed with latitude in initiative and independent judgment; seeks guidance only on unusual problems.
