Job summary

City of Hallandale Beach seeks a Utilities Engineer to perform complex engineering work across environmental, water, sewer and street projects, ensuring technical competence and code compliance.

The position requires a BS in civil engineering with 5+ years of experience, NIMS certification within a year, and a valid Florida driver’s license. You will work with Public Works with a degree of independence and professional judgment.

Qualifications

• NIMS certification required or obtained within one year.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; supplemented by five or more years’ civil engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
• Must have sound knowledge of engineering design and construction management experience.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
• In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions established in order to perform this job successfully.
