Job summary

State of Iowa - Executive Branch seeks an Accounting Technician 3 in Ames, IA to audit, reconcile, deposit and report financial transactions. You will ensure revenue activities align with state accounting practices and resolve funding discrepancies under DOT policies.

The role supports internal and external customers with accounts receivable inquiries and works a Monday–Friday schedule in a collaborative, customer-focused team environment.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or GED with five years of accounting work experience or equivalent
Post-high school accounting coursework (at least 20 semester hours) from an accredited institution
Alternative combinations of education and experience accepted (including substitutions)

Responsibilities

Audit, reconcile, deposit and report on financial transactions.
Ensure revenue activities comply with required accounting practices.
Review, research and adjust funding transactions and discrepancies.
Process financial transactions according to DOT policies and state laws.
Assist internal and external customers with accounts receivable questions.
