Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a vigilant Public Safety professional to handle routine safety and emergency security activities, safeguard patients and staff, and train new employees. The role includes first responder duties, de-escalation of critical events, and serving as a resource to colleagues.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related public safety experience, with appropriate firearm handling training and certifications.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years in general security, military, or other public safety experience where to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty required or an equivalence of training and job experience.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain ongoing training including firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities protecting people and property.
• Conducts Public Safety training and development programs.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• De-escalate critical events with sound judgment and engage combative or escalating subjects.
• On-board new employees and serve as an informal resource to colleagues.
