Job summary

First 5 Alameda County is seeking a Program Officer to provide strategic leadership in program development, implementation, and evaluation. You will translate vision into actionable plans, use data to improve delivery, and advance equity and sustainability across the early childhood system.

The role focuses on public health training, place-based investments, fatherhood, birth equity, and CalAIM-related initiatives, coordinating with early care and education partners.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive experience in program management and implementation.
• At least three years of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s may substitute for experience.
• Ability to translate vision into plans and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program leadership to set strategic goals and develop plans for design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and monitor program plans with measurable outcomes using data, research, and evaluation to guide improvements.
• Align operations with strategic objectives and address delivery challenges with leadership.
• Strengthen communication and collaboration among program staff, agency teams, and external partners.
• Provide leadership, training, and capacity-building to staff to promote accountability and learning.
