Job summary

Virginia Department of Health seeks a Public Health Nurse Senior to provide district-wide nursing leadership and expert guidance in one or more public health programs. The role will coordinate MCH program activities, develop policies, and monitor performance while communicating with staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Requires licensure as an RN in Virginia.
Must be BLS/CPR certified and able to be fit tested.
Leadership experience; ability to work independently in home/clinic/community settings.
Ability to review data, create reports, and make recommendations.
Public health knowledge and epidemiology basics.
Proficiency with computers and common applications.

Responsibilities

Provide non-supervisory nursing leadership across district programs.
Coordinate MCH program/grant activities.
Develop program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Monitor service delivery for policy compliance and performance.
Perform nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration, and case management.
May supervise support staff.
