Job summary

The Infectious Disease Epidemiologist with the State of Wyoming leads surveillance, field investigations, and outbreak responses for high-consequence threats across Wyoming. This role directs disease response strategies for waterborne and BT threats, coordinating with the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory for testing and reporting to the CDC.

The position also leads cross-cutting initiatives, oversees 24/7 surge capacity, develops the annual infectious disease report, maintains state web

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology required.
• 1-2 years of progressive work experience in Epidemiology at the Epidemiologist I level, or 4-6 years with substitution.
• Masters degree preferred for advanced qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs public health surveillance activities.
• Analyzes data from epidemiologic investigations or studies.
• Coordinates public health interventions and control measures.
• Develops detailed reports from investigations and analyses.
• Gathers epidemiologic data from physicians, laboratories, and patients.
