Qualifications

• Ten years minimum of professional experience in data science, data analytics, or a closely related field.
• Experience supporting a state government data modernization initiative.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Knowledge of statistical methods, data modeling, and analysis software such as SAS or R.
• Experience with Power BI, ESRI, Tableau, or comparable data visualization software.
• Experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Two years of experience working in a public health setting.
• Ability to provide technical assistance, training, and support based on applicable principles and standards.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Support ingestion, curation, and integration of datasets into the platform from various sources.
• Develop and maintain metadata for datasets and indicators, including data dictionaries.
• Apply data governance standards to indicators, including rate and stabilization rules and safeguards.
• Apply data privacy, deidentification, and statistical disclosure limitation methods.
• Identify solutions for information access, including data repositories and visual display for data quality review.
• Support the ability to manipulate data, run reports, and develop dashboards through Power BI, ESRI, Tableau, and related platforms.
• Communicate with system and data users inside the agency and with external stakeholders.
